Essential Oils: Hopping on the Bandwagon!

My father is vegan.

I grew up in a household where we took Homeopathic remedies before anything else.

I went to an arts high school that was about at hippy as they come.

I like to live a chemical free life.

So how, please tell me, did I miss the boat on Essential Oils?!?!

Seriously?  How?  It's baffling my mind as I am learning more and more about EOs and all of the amazing things they can do for you.  It's mind boggling, really!

I mean, I've used EOs for other things.  Namely cleaning and bath stuff.  I even have recipes on my site here that have EOs in them.  I LOVE them for helping keep my cloth diapers smelling nicely.  But I had no idea of the amazing medicinal capabilities of EOs until just recently.

It started with a few Facebook posts from a girl that I went to high school with.  She was in my brother's grade, so a few years ahead of me.  I follow her Facebook posts because she's a photographer like me.  And a damn good on at that.  So I paid attention to her posts and started noticing her talking about being a "Lemon Dropper" and she'd say things like "I had a headache this afternoon so I put a little bit of {insert EO name here} on my temple and it was gone in minutes!".  Only I wasn't paying attention to *those* posts.

Then a few months later there was another friend posting about these miracle cures.  Then another.  Then another.  Soon my newsfeed was blowing up with "Lemon Droppers".  I was interested, but not enough so to really do anything about it.

Then I got one of my seasonal migraines and posted about my pain and suffering on FB.  Then I went to my FB feed and saw one friend posting about some EO related and I remembered that post the other friend had made about an EO curing her headache.  So I sent this friend a message.  A little inquiry.  She commented that she had thought about sending me a message about my migraine and an EO that could help, but she didn't want be obnoxious.  She told me how I could order some of these magnificent things of my very own.

Still, I did not order.  I just didn't have the money at the time.

Then I got a sample of doTerra Lavender EO at MommyCon a couple of weeks ago.  I decided to try a bit of that on Bear's feet to help him sleep at night.  It seemed to work.  Then another friend (seriously, I am the ONLY one apparently not already using these!) sold me some blends to help with Bear's gassiness and Cody's general crankiness around midterms time.  Both seemed to their job.

So, I got interested.

From the brief research I've done it seems a little bit... um... wrong? to be using both doTerra and Young Living.  Like my house may implode if I apply both brands at the same time.  But I'm curious, excited, and willing to learn.  And I'd like to share what I learn with you as I go, if you don't mind.  :)

And so, I have hopped on the Essential Oil Bandwagon.  Hoping for a smooth ride!
