Think Tank Photo Review and Giveaway

Free Strap or Harness with any Urban Disguise v2.0

Think Tank Photo is a company that I have known about for years and have been a fan of just as long.  As a photographer I am always on the look-out for quality products that will help me with my business.  A big chunk of that is finding a safe way to haul my gear around.  Cameras and lenses are extremely expensive (I have invested close to $15,000 in mine) so it is extremely important to me that my bags be safe, well padded, and secure.  Think Tank Photo provides me with that.

Airport International(TM)
Think Tank Photo offers a large variety of bags, backpacks, and slings to suit every photographer's need.  Lots of photographers, myself included spend a lot of time on the road and traveling on planes.  Finding a quality carry-on approved suitcase for gear transportation is a must!  For that reason Think Tank Photo's Airport Series is a great product that would benefit pretty much every photographer of every level if you plan to travel with your gear.  The Airport International(TM) V 2.0 Rolling Camera Bag can hold two-three cameras with lenses attached (including a 70-200!) along with two-three other cameras and two-three speedlites in addition to all of your cards, batteries, and other accessories.  Length wise it can hold up to a 500mm lens in it's well padded compartments.  At almost $370 there is a hefty price tag attached, but when you're protecting $15,000 in gear you don't want to go cheap!  It is International and Domestic airline carry-on approved so you never have to part ways with your gear.

Retrospective(r) 30 - Pipestone
If it's just a shoulder bag that you need, look no further than the Retrospective(r) series of shoulder camera bags.  Available in seven sizes and three colors there's a Retrospective(r) bag to meet the needs of any photographer.  The Retrospective(r) Lens Changer 2 is a great in-action camera bag that will hold two lenses (including a 70-200 with reversed lens hood!) for easy lens change while you are on the go.  For camera-hauling needs check out the Retrospective(r) 30 which can hold a DSLR with lens attached as well as two additional lenses (including a 70-200) and a speedlite along with all of your accessories.

Sling-O-Matic 10
Finally, onto my favorite Think Tank Photo bag!  As you all know, I have a shoulder problem and because of that I find it difficult to carry two strap backpacks and even should bags are difficult for me to carry for long periods of time.  Sling bags are the easiest for me, and luckily Think Tank has a great selection of Sling-O-Matic Bags.  Best of all?  They go over my LEFT shoulder!  You have no idea how hard it is to find a sling bag that goes over your left shoulder.  Seriously, go to any store.  The majority of them go over your right shoulder, which is my bad shoulder.  While sling bags aren't the easiest for gear switching on the go, they are fantastic for hauling gear from one location to the next and for traveling when you don't want to bring all of your gear (which would require an Airport Series carry-on).  I have the Sling-O-Matic 10 which can carry a camera with a lens attached, a spare lens, and a spare speedlite.  I use my Sling-O-Matic 10 for weddings and portraits to hold my back-up gear (which is usually a 7D with a 70-200 or 24-105 with lens hoods attached and a 580 EX II speedlite).   It also hold all of my cards, batteries, and accessories easily in the top and side pockets.  I love, love, love this bag.  It's well padded and comfortable to carry.  And with it's easy to access side openings you can access your gear without taking off the bag.   At $137.75 it is well worth every penny!  If you have more gear to haul check out the Sling-O-Matic 30 which can carry both main and back-up gear and a 15.4 inch laptop in a separate, padded, compartment.  (Note: From the looks of the pictures it appears the Sling-O-Matic 30 goes over your right shoulder.)

Think Tank Photo is my newest and most favorite affiliate sponsor so you will be seeing much more of the amazing products they offer over the coming months.  This is just a small selection.  Be sure to head on over today and explore all of their great offerings!

What I Love: Think Tank Photo provides photographers with quality products at competitive prices.  Non-photographers may look at the price and wonder why *I* would approve of them, but if you have ever had a broken camera due to a poorly designed camera bag you'd understand.  With Think Tank bags I do not need to worry about my gear and can focus on my work.  That's worth a lot of money to me and my business.

What I Don't Love: Probably my only real complaint is that I have to order all of my Think Tank Photo gear online as there are no brick and mortar stores in my area that carry their products.  I just hate ordering something and then having to wait two days to ship to me.  Yeah, I know.  First World problems...
